Family Life and Childhood Memories

Growing up as Jackie Robinson's son was special. My dad's journey in baseball was inspiring. But his love for family shaped my childhood more.

My Dad and Mother, Jackie and Rachel Robinson, met at UCLA.

My father was an athlete, and my mom was a suckling student. They married in 1946  a year before my father joined the Brooklyn Dodgers.

Our house was a place of love despite the challenges my dad faced. My siblings ,  Sharon and David, and I learned a lot from him. He taught us about life , from flipping pancakes to keeping promises.

My Mom and Dad favorite photograph was of him stealing home plate during the 1955 World Series.

It exemplified his tenacity and competitive spirit, qualities he instilled in us as well.

We moved to California from Georgia during the Great Migration. I saw how my dad changed sports and society. His legacy still inspires me and many others.

My dad's story is one of courage and family. Face back, I'm thankful for him. He showed us the importance of defending what is just, regardless of the consequences.
